Sweden’s Daniel Jennevret wins the Stroke Play portion of the Amateur Championship at Royal Troon and Glasgow-Gailes Links. Jennevret, a 22 year old student at Texas Christian University in the United States, opened with a par round of 71 at Glasgow-Gailes Links; he then followed that by breaking the Royal Troon amateur course record with a 6-under-par 65.
Following behind him were Australia’s Geoffrey Drakeford (67-71) and France’s Adrien Saddier (68-71), Paul Barjon (70-69) winner of the recent Scottish Stroke Play Championship, and Ireland’s Richard O’Donovan (73-66). The Stroke Play portion was worth a total of 1754.18 points to 10% of the 288 players. The remaining 90% of the massive 17,541.75 points will be distributed in the match play portion of the event.
