France on top in Cyprus at the European Men’s Club Trophy.

France’s Ormesson Golf Club took home the gold at the European Men’s Club Trophy held at the Minthis Golf Club in Cyprus from 25-27 October. It was a two horse race between the French Team, led by Europe’s current number 1 Adrien Saddier, and Germany’s St. Leon-Rot, led by Europe’s number 2, Moritz Lampert. In the end, the French shot a total of 27 under par, four shots better than the Germans. Saddier was the low individual with rounds of 64, 66 and 70 for a total of 200 (-13). Germany’s Alex Matlari and Moritz Lampert both shot 11 under par to tie for second and France’s Lionel Weber (-8) finished 4th. 5th place saw three players tie at 6 under par, France’s Clement Berardo, England’s Freddie Sheridan-Mills and the European Golf Association’s top man Richard Heath. 3rd Place in the team portion went to Switzerland’s Lausanne Golf Club with a total of 9 under par.

With Daan Huizing turning professional, there was a new man atop the rankings for the first time in over a year. Saddier reign at the top may be short lived as he and Moritz Lampert are currently competing as amateurs at the European Tour Qualifying School in Spain.
