Multiple events signal start of 2013 Season

The European Golf Club in County Wicklow, Ireland will host the Leinster U21s from 25-27 March. With 3475 points on the line, the field of 103 players will be enjoying one of the world’s top courses. The European is not only one of the finest courses in the world, but also the toughest. The winner of this event will be a proven winner!

The 2013 French Boys will be held in the North of France at Golf du Touguet from 27-31 March. A top field of 120 U18 players from all over Europe will play 36 holes of Stroke Play with the top 32 advancing to Match Play. With 6148.50 points up for grabs, someone is going to make a serious move up the EGR U18 rankings. Five of the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR) Top 250 golfers will be in the field. With the wind and cold predicted, the winner will have to be a serious ballstriker and well prepared to deal with the elements.

Ireland’s second big event of the week, the West of Ireland Open Amateur held on Rosses Point in County Sligo from 29 March – 2 April, sees 6509.85 points up for grabs. The winner will come from a field of 123 players, including six of the WAGR’s top 250. A 36 hole Stroke Play Qualifier will be held on the 29th of March followed by 3 days of Match Play.
