Dominic Foos defended his German Boys crown at St. Leon-Rot in record fashion. His 19 under par (66-69-62) broke not only the tournament record but also the course record. All this at the ripe old age of 15. 12 Shots back found Portugal’s Goncalo Costa on second place with rounds of 69-67-73. Germany’s Max Bögel fired rounds of 66-73-71 to take take home third place and is on his way with the German U18 Team to Japan to compete in the World Team U18 Championships. Denmark’s John Axelsen continued his fine play with rounds of 76-70-68. Born in 1998, Axelsen looks to be another of our emerging super stars.

Denmark’s Emily Pedersen held off defending Champion Karolin Lampert on Lampert’s home turf with rounds of 67-65-70 to take home the gold in the Girl’s Championship. Lampert shot rounds of 73-68-66 and showed her class over the last two days. Until now, Lampert’s year has been full of school finals. Pedersen, who also won the Spanish Ladies Amateur, looks to be Lampert’s main competition for the rest of the summer. Third place was shared by Italy’s Virginia Carta (70-67-72) and Wales’ Chloe Williams (73-68-68).

It seems as the warm sunny weather has heated up the scores in Europe. After a long wet winter, everyone could use more low scores!!
