European Nations Cup ... Turns into a Football Match!

The European Nations Cup is held every year in the south east of Spain at the famous Real Golf Club Sotogrande. This year, the club employees have decided to strike and have positioned themselves all around the perimeter of the club armed with sirens, drums, loud speakers and 50 caliber guns. You would think a war was taking place!
The course, despite the absence of employees, is in phenomenal condition. The wind is playing a major factor on the scores and shows no signs of letting up. After round one, France’s young gun Edgar Catherine leads the pack with a two under par 70. There are few scores at par or better, so there is everything to play for.
In the team portion, Italy leads France by three shots after solid performances from Lorenzo Scalise 71, Renato Paratore 72 and Guido Migliozzi 74.
On the Women’s side, Italy’s Virginia Carta was in a league of her own with 70, three shots ahead of the field.
In the team portion, England is showing its class and has a one shot lead over host Spain. Sara-Jane Boyd and Annabel Dimmock both shot 73 to push England to the top. As a sign of their overall strength, Gabriela Cowley’s 74 was entered as a scratch.
Day two looks a bit nicer but with the wind schedule to shift in the complete opposite direction for the last two rounds…. who knows! One thing is for sure, the football match shows no signs of letting up:(
